May 23rd was a perfect day in New York City. The temperature was right for a beautiful spring day. I was walking in the Israel Day Parade. I am a proud supporter of the nation of Israel. I believe that the nation of Israel has a right to exist. I have been attacked for that stance and will continue to stand up for Israel no matter what.
I was amazed to see that amount of people who flew in from around the country and the world to celebrate Israel’s 62nd birthday! People were singing, dancing and cheering the floats and groups and celebrities. I marched twice in the parade from 55th ave to 74th Ave. I wish I didn’t where a blue suit but it was comfortable outside.
I met with my strategic adviser and friends from the “U” (University of Miami). Then a turn of events happened. I was following a friend to the concert platform and my friend David was asked to speak. He turned and introduced me to a parade official and I was ushered on the speaking stage. As I waited to speak. I had nothing prepared to say, so I thought on what I saw today in the parade. The heartfelt love for the nation of Israel and for the Yeshiva Schools within my area. The Yeshiva Schools within the North Miami Beach and North Miami area are in desperate need of support of the people. I know that times are tough, but people in this great country need to dig to help out these schools to stay open. As I gathered my thoughts, I saw Chairman Michael Steele walked by and shook hands with Michael Faulkner. I had a small chance and I took it. I spoke with the Chairman for about 15 to 20 minutes. I let him know about the state of the Republican Party in Florida and how candidates like myself felt like the GOP was giving me and other great candidates the shaft. He listened and sighed heavily. I could see that it was a concern on his conscience. He let me know how to get him to come down to Florida to campaign for the candidates. I will follow those instructions and we shall see if he comes.
Well, Chairman Steele spoke and it was a great speech and then I was given the same opportunity to speak in front of a crowd of thousands. I let the crowd know my heart and where it is for the Jewish people and the nation of Israel. I also let them know how to help the Jewish schools within my area. I shocked and awed and humbled by the response of the crowd. I enjoyed my trip to New York City and I enjoyed my time at the Israel Day Parade.
First the Assistant Secretary of State needs to be fired by comparing Arizona’s immigration law to China’s human rights abuses. They are not even in the same ballpark playing the same game. This is China who jails people for difference of opinion. China that shoots Muslims in the head for crossing into China or caught practicing their religion within China. Starving North Koreans they ship back or put into concentration/work camps. China who ran over their young students with tanks. I see the similarities between us. Yeah Right! I wish someone in the administration would have stood up to China and gave them a verbal tongue lashing and tell the UN to go to hell. The two have no legs to stand on with us on human rights issues.
I know this post is a bit late. I would like to Thank Dr. Laz for hosting a parlor meeting at his house. Dr. Laz is an amazing person for helping ease the tension in the Crown Heights area of New York . I am proud to call him friend and supporter.
I would like to thank Levi Bonnardel for having a parlor meeting so that people could meet me on a one-on-one basis. The debate was spirited and lively. I learned a lot from the guests and I hope that they learned a lot from me. Thank you again for being a gracious host Levi.
I would like to thank The Tamarac, Margate, Coconut Creek Republican Club. Say that three times fast for having me come out and speak at their meeting on Thursday. President Gene Robinson was a great host. He made sure we were taken care of during the meeting. I look forward to the assistance of the TMCC Republican Club in the future.
I would like to thank the AFL-CIO for having me on the congressional debate forum. Jim Defede was great and Fred Frost was a great host! I enjoyed the opportunity to speak to the union heads and give them a new point of view.
Fair Play for Israel Rally
Do not believe the TV news they said, only 200 people showed up to the Rally when actually that number was around 1500. Some, just were hiding from the heat and sun. Robert Lowry candidate for District #20 was getting a great tan and so was Ed Lynch. Karen Harrington was enjoying the shade with my wife. All delivered great speeches.
All we want is for Israel to get Fair Play. Why did the Obama Administration leave Israel off the list of countries helping Haiti recover? Why Did the UN convene a special session for the Flotilla, but never condemn North Korea for sinking a South Korean ship. The disturbing rise in Antisemitism around the world is being fueled by hate/terrorist groups like Free Gaza, Hamas and Hezbollah. The UN is now becoming a perpetrator of Antisemitism too still no apologies for the false condemnation of the Flotilla. Do not worry Israel help is coming to the US Congress defenders not detractors.
