The NMB Police Pension Battle

The North Miami Beach Police Department (NMBPD) is one of the best police departments in the county of Miami-Dade. The officers are highly trained and they train other police departments with their knowledge and skills. They have the best response time in the county and they are cracking down on gangs and gang violence within their city. They are a big family and many officers leave other departments to join NMB’s. The narcotics division just scored a major bust of 1.93 million dollars worth of drugs off the streets of  “The City Who Cares”. That being said, the North Miami Beach City Council wants to take the Police Officers pensions away from them.

What the public should do

They tried to spirit it away in the middle of the night. Sneaky back door politics.

What some Officers think of the Council

Imagine, you have worked for twenty (20) years and about tho retire. Now the city that you love and have toiled away for tells you can have yourpension, because they say they can’t afford it. Even though, they have given themselves raises and a generous health plan benefits package. They treat themselves to special gifts on the dime of the people. What about that Private library money? Ummm…. Well one of the councilwomen said, what they want to do with the pension money. We would like to be able to use that money at our discretion. Also, they want control of the pension money. This would give the council incredible leverage against the Officers. Well, the Officers came out in a show of force. NMBPD I am with you on this! Good luck and give them hell!

The NAACP/NEW BLACK PANTHER PARTY

The NAACP is the nation’s oldest civil rights society in the nation. It is over 100 years old. Yet, after the Civil Rights movement the organization has struggled to maintain relevance throughout the years. The NAACP has now hurled the racist term to “The TEA PARTY”. What? The NAACP whose leaders have been hurling racial epithets at other racial groups without repudiation (Julian Bond). This group who has hosted Rev. Wright, Louis Farrakhan, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. The five amigos of racial unity. Please get real!  It is as if they have a Free Pass to be racist because of the past. THE NAACP leaders will not and have not condemned the New Black Panther Party for its racist rants. The call for killing “Crackers!” and “killing they babies!” and yet I can hear a pin drop from the NAACP on this issue. Yet, Ben Jealous gets on his three legged high horse and condemns “THE TEA PARTY”. Now, are there some racists in “THE TEA PARTY”? Of course and they get expelled when they are found out.

The recent video of a White Supremacist “Tea Partier” who was a progressive plant. He was kicked out of the Tea Party Rally that day. I personally have never met a racist at any Tea Party Rallies I have attended. I have been a featured speaker many times. Are there racists within the NAACP? Of course, and they hide behind reverse racism. They are quick to call anyone a racist or an Uncle Tom. They use the racist term to stifle or to silence any objectors to their rhetoric or questioning the policies of the current administration. Sounds like a first amendment violation to me. The NAACP needs to find a positive direction and stay out of politics and return to help build and rebuild the Black Community and the Black Family. The abandonment of this cause has had a derelict effect in the Black community. I would like to remember the NAACP for its role in the Civil Rights movement not for trying to start race and class warfare initiatives.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) and the New Black Panther Party has caused a major problem for me. The DOJ had the New Black Panther Party within its sights on voter intimidation. The men involved should have been punished for their actions. The ghosts of the passed should remain in the pass or you risk never moving into the future. The two-tiered justice system now present within the DOJ is frightening. They have set a bad precedent for other hate groups to get back into the voter intimidation business. Now, they have a free pass. Thank you DOJ! Any newbie lawyer will defeat the United States in court. Great! Now, another thing for me to worry about come the 2010 and 2012 elections. I hope that I am wrong about this, but I have been right about a lot of things going on with the administration.

Poitier at the Faith Forum

I attended today’s Faith Forum at my home church of Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale. I was given a chance to speak in front of the home crowd. I shook hands with Marco Rubio, Robert Sutton running for School Board and Joe Budd. Here is the two minutes I was given to turn the crowd on to my campaign.

Poitier at Palm Beach REC

Yes, Yours truly traveled up to Palm Beach REC to introduce himself to PBREC and to draw attention to his cause. C’mon! Palm Beach County we could sure use the help. Come by our website or join us on facebook. I saw a lot of familiar faces and was allowed to speak for 2 minutes. That is much more than at other REC’s, no RSVP!
